Choose transport that fits the vehicle
Discuss open or enclosed carrier options where available. Vehicle size, clearance, modifications and running condition may limit equipment choices. Mention any need for a winch or special handling at the outset.
A carrier needs a safe collection and delivery point. Restricted access, remote addresses and appointment-only facilities should be disclosed before dispatch.
Handover and condition records
Have keys, release authorization and the contact person ready. Photograph the condition and confirm the collection inspection with the transporter. Remove valuables and approved loose items before handover.
Ask for the written transport terms, applicable coverage, estimated collection window and update process. Delivery estimates may change with distance, weather and carrier availability.
