Start with the vehicle and destination
Before committing to transport, confirm the vehicle’s eligibility for the proposed shipping method and destination. Send the year, make, model, VIN if available, condition, collection address and intended Nigerian destination. A remote purchase should have an independent condition check where practical.
Compare an itemized journey
Review inland pickup, loading, export preparation, ocean freight and destination responsibilities separately. Ask which charges are included in the quote and whether clearance or onward delivery is excluded. Compare container and eligible RoRo options against the actual vehicle, not a headline price.
Prepare, hand over and retain records
Obtain the required ownership or purchase documents and release instructions. Remove valuables, photograph the vehicle and keep copies of booking and condition records. Confirm the departure plan and arrival responsibilities in writing; pickup, sailing and clearance are separate stages.
